What is All-on-X?

All-on-X is a procedure that uses four to six implants in the upper or lower jaw to hold in place a new set of teeth. Only a few implants are needed because the force from chewing and biting is evenly distributed between the implants.

Our doctors can extract teeth, place the dental implants and attach an aesthetic and functional new set of provisional teeth, often in the same visit.

Award-Winning Dental Implant Professionals

Winterset Dental is one of only two practices in the entire greater Chicago area honored with the “The Center of Excellence Award” by Nobel Biocare™—the premier provider of dental implant systems—recognizing the practice’s experience and expertise in All-on-X® Dental Implants treatment.

Our All-on-X Dental Implants Process

A key component to the success of providing All-on-X dental implants is the extensive planning our doctors do. Using the 3D CT scanner, our doctors obtain 360-degree views of your mouth and jaw to identify the areas of densest bone and determine the best locations for implant placement.

Our doctors use implant planning software to simulate the entire surgery ahead of time. They can even create a surgical guide, which is placed over your gums during the procedure to ensure the implants are placed precisely. The implants are placed in areas of dense jawbone for optimal stability. Long implants are placed at an angle to maximize bone-to-implant contact, often eliminating the need for bone grafting.

The number of implants placed varies depending on the availability of sufficient or dense bone. This can be especially true for the upper jaw, which has softer bone; in such cases, doctors prefer five or six implants. Regardless of the number of implants placed, the cost for the procedure remains the same.

A Beautiful New Smile

In most cases, the doctors can attach provisional teeth during the same visit as the implant surgery. These temporary teeth look lifelike and are functional. After the implants have healed, aesthetic final teeth are placed, providing you with biting and chewing strength nearly as natural as your own, and a beautiful new smile!

Not Enough Bone for Implant Treatment?

We have the solution with Zygomatic Implants

Gum disease, smoking, leaving teeth missing and wearing dentures can all contribute to bone loss. Patients who have suffered bone loss in the jaw may not be eligible for traditional dental implant treatment, but this doesn’t mean there is no hope for getting a stable smile. The doctors at Winterset Dental can restore full function and beauty using zygomatic dental implants.

When bone in the upper jaw is insufficient to support dental implants, Dr. Agarwal can place extra-long, angled implants in the cheekbone (zygomatic bone), where the bone volume remains dense even when teeth have been missing for a long time. He can then attach a full arch of natural-looking replacement teeth—a strong and long-lasting solution for patients who have extensive bone loss.

In use for over 20 years, zygomatic implants have been proven safe and effective and can be placed without the need for bone grafting or sinus lifts, which can add months to the treatment time of traditional implants. The zygomatic implants integrate with the bone and are so strong that a full set of replacement teeth can usually be attached right away.
