I count my patients as my blessings, people that I can help, who trust me with their oral health. I keep them chewing! I create great smiles for photos! I am there to fix a toothache. It is a blessing to serve them.
I count my staff as my blessings, people committed to doing their best for our patients and our practice. They brighten my day. Each has individual talents that they share within a team environment. Each takes responsibility for their actions. And each has their own “special patients” that they really like to see when they come for appointments.
I count my professional colleagues as my blessings, because I have another dental care provider who is willing to see a patient who has a problem beyond my area of expertise. The materials and technology in dentistry are changing more rapidly, and we all try to support each other in learning to use the new stuff effectively. Fortunately, I attend more than 60 hours of training annually, to remain on the cutting edge of materials and technology, and my colleagues attend a different 60 hours. Then, we meet and mingle monthly. Collective brain power benefits everyone!
